Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig

We're Home!

The kids and I spent the last four days in the lovely city of New Orleans. My stepbrother was getting married and we had absolutely the best time in the Big Easy. I think the only thing that would have made it better is if Daddy could have come along. Poor guy had to work. {Don't feel too bad for the guy, he had the house all to himself!}

I know you guys wanna see some pics:

The kids and I near Jackson Square (mere steps from our hotel. awesome.)

Little Miss A in her new bishop dress. I wanted to make it in a bold print and not in your standard batiste or something. It really came out well. This is also the first time I sewed a yoke...and once I figured it out it wasn't so bad! I definately plan on sewing tons of these for this summer. (Someone...I wont' say who...refuses pants, shorts...anything with legs. Girly girl, she is)

Need I say more?? Worth the trip.

First bites of beignet!! My silly boy "doesn't like sugar", so no pic of the E-man being cranky. i'll give him points for trying to talk me into getting him a cafe au lait, though.

Sew....I didn't sew this dress, but I love it. I am going to {gulp} try and make a women's dress from looking at how this one is constructed. The neckline is killer and what you can't see is the slit on the left thigh. Nothing gross but just enough. Plus - I love a dress I can wear my red heels with!

E and E2 @ Jackson Square. Mostly so you can see Em's dress.
A square yoke with three quarter sleeves and a little pleated part in the middle. I PROMISE I will take better pictures of this soon.

I can't wait to show you guys my living room. My lovely hubby painted it while the kids and I were gone. It's a pale grey and I can't get enough of it. We went from a dark green to this color and the difference is staggering. The whole place looks like another house. Just a few finishing touches and its going to be

At least until the kids wake up. Haha.
Well, I'm off to eat another praline...(ohhhh, my waistline)...
